Megatrend Analysis

Trend Data for Six Asia-Pacific Locales

Megatrend Data consist of statistical time series on demographic developments, ecological sustainability, economic trends, and technological progress for six Asia-Pacific locales: China, Japan, Singapore, and the U.S. states of California, Hawaii, and Washington. The time series are indicators of the capacity for innovation and of actual innovation, as measured by the number of patents, trademarks and other innovation indicators, and the amount of research and development (R&D) expenditures. They are being used to conduct Megatrend Analyses that focus on four dimensions across a 10-year time span: i.e., demographic developments, ecological sustainability, economic trends, and technological progress. The data are also being used to calculate summary innovation indexes for the six locales, which will permit longitudinal comparisons.

Data dictionaries for the data series that are collected can be accessed to the right or from the Innovation Indexes diagram below. For more information on the data, please contact us.
