2007 Triple Helix Summit

When: February 12 – 13, 2007
Where: Honolulu, HI

Research scientists from government, academia and industry internationally convened in Honolulu for the first annual Triple Helix Summit. The two-day event provided a forum for this group of culturally diverse, interdisciplinary researchers to meet and discuss new systems for innovation and cross-sector collaboration.

Day one of the Summit served as a working meeting to facilitate knowledge sharing among key researchers in this area from around the world and to define the strategic direction of the new Institute for Triple Helix Innovations.

An opening ceremony at the start of day two officially launched the Institute in Hawaii – honoring its cultural roots as a bridge between U.S. and Asia-Pacific and enabling new competitive linkages for technology-based endeavors. The second day’s program expanded to welcome additional members from the public, private and education sectors who are interested in the long-term economic and social benefits of the Triple Helix model of innovation.
